Book Review: JayJay’s Jamaican Vacation

JayJay’s Jamaican Vacation, by Kebrina Robinson and Jayden Robinson

My review: ★★★★

This book is a nice kids’ introduction to Jamaica. It shows the different places and activities JayJay and his family see on the island, and a little bit of food, too. The book ends with some fun facts about culture in Jamaica.

The artwork is of high quality, and rather cute. The rhymes are a little awkward here and there, but not bad considering it was actually written by Jayden, who is a kid himself. I find it endearing and a good way to encourage kids’ curiosity to travel and learn more about other countries. And I look forward to more travels from JayJay! This book is probably best for kids age 4-10.
